Citing Wall Street analysts, APCIA said the price for new cars would increase $4,000 to
$15,000. About 60% of auto replacement parts come from Mexico, Canada, or China, and
repairs will take longer if the supply doesn’t come from other countries.

Bad Faith
A Nevada jury has dealt a severe blow to USAA, awarding $100 million in punitive damages and
$14 million in compensatory damages to policyholder Timothy Kuhn in a bad faith insurance
case. The verdict stems from USAA’s handling of Kuhn’s claim following a 2018 rear-end
collision, where the insurer initially determined he was not at fault but later argued in litigation
that he was responsible.

Chubb Insurance Receives Top Award
J.D. Power’s 2024 Property Claims study puts Chubb, Amica and The Hartford in the top
three for home insurance claims satisfaction. Safeco and Homesite are the bottom two
companies for claims handling in the study. J.D. Power's overall home insurance satisfaction
survey, released in September 2024, ranked Chubb as the best home insurance company,
followed by AIG, while Amica took third place. National General and Homesite landed in the
bottom two.
